Boston Celtics teams up with Sun Life Financial for 4th annual #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes campaign
Celtics dunks in November will generate thousands of dollars for Greater Boston YMCA

BOSTON and WELLESLEY, Mass., Nov. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- November is Diabetes Awareness Month, and once again the Boston Celtics and Sun Life Financial will hold the #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes campaign, which raises money for the YMCA of Greater Boston's Diabetes Prevention Program.


#SunLifeDunk4Diabetes raises $1,000 each time a Celtics player dunks in the month of November. Every time anyone uses the hashtag on Twitter or Facebook, $1 will be donated to the cause. Sun Life's donations will be matched by the Boston Celtics up to $25,000.

Last year #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes raised more than $75,000 for the program, and has raised more than $200,000 to date. The campaign is part of Sun Life's growing support of the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program nationally, which Sun Life helped launch in Kansas City, Mo., and Boston, Mass., in 2014. Since the program's launch, over 54,000 people have participated, at nearly 1,700 Ys across the country.
