BOSTON, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston Celtics and Sun Life Financial are closing another successful year of Fit to Win, a four-week health and fitness program for YMCA children throughout New England.

WHAT: The Championship Event for Fit to Win, which will recognize the top performing children from Greater Hartford, Greater Boston, and Southern Maine, and close out the 2017 program. With the Celtics players, kids will create their own healthy fruit smoothies, show off their learned fitness skills, and get to hear from the players on how they stay healthy and fit.

WHO: Celtics VIPs in attendance will be Marcus Smart, Amir Johnson, and Kelly Olynyk and the 30 top Fit to Win performers from around New England, who will meet the players, show their fitness skills, and receive a special prize.

WHY: This year's Fit to Win Championship Event marks the culmination of the largest Fit to Win program yet, with over 200 children participating in Greater Hartford, Greater Boston, and Southern Maine. Each year the program reaches more children in more communities throughout New England, generating interest and excitement about nutrition, fitness, and overall health. Sun Life and the Boston Celtics have partnered to fight diabetes and promote health and wellness in our communities, with Fit to Win for YMCA youth, and #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes, a November fund-raising campaign that supports the YMCA of Greater Boston's Diabetes Prevention Program, an educational course for adults at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.
